DD Series: Defense Dilema Series ‘Social-Political Critic' I intend to represent what I encounter, as well as present to my audience an interpretation of our so called ‘defense policy’. I have chosen perception as my focus. . . Visual and Conceptual artists, such as the Dadaists, Situationists, Surrealists, Impressionists and Expressionist, Post-modernist, Deconstructivist, have shaped my style, in addition to the mass media, print and electronic, politicians, writers, doctors, designers, film directors, architects, consultants and even laymen that walk the street. DD Series is a socio-politico comentary which focused on the Malaysian Defence policy. The mega budget and heavy spending on Sukhoi jet fighters & Scorpene submarines is highly questionable when the real ‘war’ is actually on the economic front. The regional political rivalry especially between Singapore and Malaysia was never and never will be on the battlefield but Singapore is rather enjoying the winning edge by slowly but surely becoming the regional economic powerhouse. And ironically, while the massive mordernisation of the Armed Forces with the fleet of Supersonic jets and the ‘latest’ diesel run submarines; which is hardly being used, the post-war Nuri choppers is still being forced to fly beyond their capabilities.
